About this role

Do you want a job where your contribution makes a significant difference in another person's life and where every interaction counts? Apply for the position of Housing Support Worker at SIROB today! With us, you will have the opportunity to work closely with individuals who need support to create a safer and more independent daily life. SIROB, which stands for Collaboration in Resources and Housing, aims to provide housing support to adults with mental health issues, co-occurring disorders, and substance abuse problems. The team works in a supported housing environment and provides housing support services within the municipality. We actively work on step transitions, with the goal that all individuals, based on their own abilities, can live as functional and independent a life as possible. We focus on the individual's needs using Motivational Interviewing as our approach. We have a process-oriented working method and maintain close collaboration with other stakeholders, both internally within the administration and externally with relevant authorities. We are now looking for a new team member who, together with a colleague, will also work on the Housing First initiative, which will be a permanent service starting January 1, 2026. Housing First is an evidence-based method designed for individuals who need extensive support to overcome homelessness. The initiative targets homeless individuals with substance abuse issues, mental health problems, and co-occurring disorders. RESPONSIBILITIES The responsibilities include, among other things, providing educational support, conducting conversations, taking samples, managing medication, reporting, and record-keeping. You will have significant responsibility for ensuring that the work is carried out, and you will work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues. Since SIROB consists of several operations, this also involves collaboration across boundaries. You will contribute to the quality of life for our clients and enhance their ability to live a safe and independent life. QUALIFICATIONS We welcome applicants who are trained treatment pedagogues, treatment assistants, social pedagogues, or have other relevant education that we deem suitable for the position. We also require documented experience in working with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. As our clients live in various locations within the municipality, a valid driver's license (B) is essential. If you have experience working with Housing First, Independent Living (ESL), low-arousal approaches, or Motivational Interviewing, we consider this a significant advantage. It is important to us that you are a secure and stable person who can maintain focus on the right things in stressful situations. Since part of the work will be carried out independently, you should be comfortable with having significant responsibility and being self-driven. You have a knack for structuring your work and can quickly adapt and be flexible when the job demands it. As previously mentioned, your contribution is of great importance, and it is therefore essential that you are social, easily build relationships, and possess good collaboration skills. You listen, communicate, and resolve situations in a low-arousal and constructive manner. Interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis, so apply today! ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Your position will belong to the process of a safe and healthy life, which is organizationally under the administration for work, competence, and welfare. Our core mission is to provide support and assistance for individuals to become self-sufficient and live independently, to provide support, help, and services to children, youth, and adults through investigation and interventions, and to promote adult learning. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland and are offered employment, you must be able to prove that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit. We in Kristinehamn Municipality work for active leadership and employee engagement. This is created through dialogue and interaction between leaders and employees, which fosters good conditions for job satisfaction within the organization.
