About this role
Ref: 20252621
Job Duties
As a housing support educator, you will support and guide clients in maintaining or developing their ability to be independent and participate in society. Within housing support, we provide interventions for clients based on Social Services Act decisions in their own homes. Together with the client, we work to develop structure and skills and create strategies for the client to handle situations inside and outside their home.
The work involves:
• Independence and personal responsibility as the work is primarily solo work in the client's residence.
• Good ability to make independent decisions in the moment and take responsibility for them.
• Being attentive/receptive to identify early signs of health issues.
Qualifications
We are seeking someone with post-secondary education of at least 60 higher education credits or 200 vocational education credits. The education should have a clear focus on disability areas, autism, and/or behavioral sciences.
Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum is meritorious. You should have knowledge of low-arousal approaches, clarifying pedagogy, and a solution-focused approach.
Since the work primarily involves solo work in the client's home, you need to be confident in your professional role and able to make quick decisions independently. You also need to be flexible and easily adapt to clients with varying needs that may change daily. Of course, you have great patience and focus on each client and their overall context.
Since housing support educators travel between client apartments by bicycle or car, you must be able to cycle and have a driver's license.
Part of the work involves documenting and creating implementation plans with clients based on assignments. Therefore, you should have good computer skills and be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.
Great emphasis is placed on communication and collaboration skills with clients, colleagues, and partners.
Working hours are Monday-Friday, primarily during the day but occasionally extending to 8:00 PM.
