About the Role

The Women’s Health Division offers specialized care in gynecology and obstetrics for the women of the region. We focus on women's health throughout their lives and provide both outpatient and inpatient care. Outpatient care includes specialist obstetric care, day hospital services, and gynecological specialist care. Inpatient care consists of childbirth, maternity wards, and gynecological inpatient services.

The medical team in Gävle comprises dedicated professionals at various stages of their careers, including completed specialists and doctors undergoing their residency training with us. We always prioritize the best interests of our patients and our operations.

Job Responsibilities

As the deputy head of the medical unit, you will work closely with the head of the medical unit to lead the team and plan its future. You will have personnel responsibilities for our 17 residency doctors, which includes conducting employee and salary discussions, scheduling, and competency development. You will carry significant responsibility regarding all aspects of our residency doctors' training. While the head of the unit holds ultimate responsibility for the work environment and finances, you will be actively involved in these areas. You will partially participate in management meetings and stand in for the head of the unit in their absence.

You will work closely with support functions such as the education director, scheduler, and HR partner.

As the deputy head of the medical unit with us, you will:

  • Ensure that our training doctors have the best possible conditions and advance our education organization significantly.
  • Lead, communicate, coordinate, and plan related to staffing and production.
  • Attract, recruit, and retain the unit's residency doctors.
  • Contribute to competency development and scientific methodologies.
  • Collaborate both within the division and externally.

Qualifications

The requirements for the position include:

  • A higher education degree, preferably in health care.
  • Documented experience in management and leadership.
  • Experience in working with competency development.

It is an advantage if you have previously worked in a round-the-clock operation.
