Job Responsibilities
As Deputy Principal, you will be part of Dalaskolan and Fiskebäcksskolan's joint school leadership, consisting of the Principal and four Deputy Principals. We have close collaboration in the management team where we leverage each other's strengths. We act flexibly when new situations arise that need to be resolved.
Your role involves being both executive and operational under delegated responsibility. You focus on the school's core processes and work daily to make a difference for students. You exercise leadership close to both students and employees. In your assignment, you have access to support from the administration in areas such as administration, economics, HR, quality and development work, digitalization, analysis, and legal matters.
About Our Schools
Dalaskolan is located at the foot of the hills towards Ekebäck, near Kungssten. The school has over 400 students, from preschool class to grade 6. Here we give students a desire to learn and all the fundamental knowledge needed to live a rich and meaningful life together with others. What further characterizes Dalaskolan is our beautiful cultural-historical school with several lovely buildings of different character to conduct our teaching in.
Fiskebäcksskolan has approximately 600 students from preschool class to grade 9, and we have a clear focus on students' development in a safe and creative school environment. We work for a successful school with consensus across all grade levels and a common thread throughout the school. All our students should feel security, well-being, and work joy.
Qualifications
Requirements:
• College degree of at least 180 credits where pedagogy was part of the education.
• Experience of some form of school leadership assignment.
• At least 4 years of experience working in schools.
• Knowledge of laws/regulations and other governing documents at the national level for school and operational forms within compulsory school.
Meritorious:
• Completed principal training and/or other leadership development program/education or preparatory management training.
• School leadership or other management experience.
• Experience with financial management and resource allocation.
• Experience with laws/regulations and collective agreements concerning employer responsibilities, such as the Education Act and Work Environment Act.
Personal Competencies:
You are a clear and good communicator who gains traction for thoughts and ideas and can influence decisions in a certain direction. You can, through convincing arguments, bring enthusiasm and energy that encourages good performance, team spirit, and increased motivation. You can effectively identify and analyze the core of a problem and propose possible solutions.
You can oversee your area of responsibility and place your own operations in a broader context. You show interest in and collaborate on overarching issues to create added value. You listen to other people to understand their needs.
You are receptive and actively seek others' viewpoints and perspectives, and are receptive to them by showing respect, consideration, and care. You are motivated by clearly defined goals and have the ability to transform these into concrete action. With focus on the goal, you can reprioritize work under changed conditions or needs.
