Job Description
Ekerö is a relatively small municipality – which makes the managers' role even more significant and important. Elected officials and municipal leadership have great trust in managers – you will be listened to, can plan your own workday, and have the opportunity to drive development. We value engaged and competent employees and managers – therefore, we invest in skills development, internal networks, and knowledge sharing. Here, you have every opportunity to make a difference for both employees and citizens.
Ekgården is facing a major transformation, and in spring 2026, we will move to new, beautiful premises at Träkvista Square. Now is the opportunity to be part of starting up the operation from scratch!
Do you have experience working as a manager in elderly care with a genuine interest in seniors and want to help develop elderly care? Then this role might be for you!
We are looking for someone who wants to work closely with the operation and be present on-site. Together with employees and supported by other management colleagues, you will lead the operation operationally, both resource-efficiently and with high quality towards set goals. It is natural for you to create conditions for participation and engagement.
The assignment includes ensuring that the operation is run operationally in accordance with our vision, core values, set goals, focus areas, and operational plan. We work continuously to improve the operation. We view welfare technology and digitalization as important tools for creating a good operation and work environment. The perspective is to continuously improve older people's opportunities to achieve an active, independent, and fulfilling life. Your leadership will be crucial in building a learning culture aimed at constantly improving the operation.
As deputy unit manager, you will participate in Ekgården's management group and report to the unit manager.
The position includes personnel and work environment responsibility, participation in budget work, and responsibility for the operation's quality. You will function as a link between authorities, commissioners, employees, residents, and relatives.
You will be welcomed into a competent and engaging team with plenty of humor, lack of prestige, openness, and a supportive approach towards each other, which is crucial for us to thrive and handle the challenges of management.
Qualifications
To succeed in the assignment:
For this role, you need previous experience working as a leader in elderly care or other relevant operational areas. You have documented experience in work management and enjoy working closely with the operation.
It is meritorious if you have higher education in healthcare or another academic qualification that the employer deems relevant for the position.
Your personal qualities are important to us. We are looking for someone with strong initiative who can create enthusiasm and participation. You should have personal maturity and integrity, as well as the ability to develop good relationships and collaborate both internally and with external actors. Your leadership style is described as coaching and team-oriented, with communication as one of your strengths. This provides you with the conditions to create a good work environment where all employees feel comfortable and want to achieve results together.
