Your Assignment

As a Deputy Unit Manager, you will belong to an office within the Signals Intelligence department and a unit that operates in the field of Russian military activity. The Signals Intelligence department works to process and analyze collected material to report unique and requested intelligence to our clients.

The role includes personnel and work environment responsibility for part of the unit's employees. You will lead the unit's daily operational activities and support the unit manager by developing production plans and production goals, both short and long-term. This involves monitoring satisfaction, changes in needs, and identifying factors that could lead to future production.

The assignment includes both internal collaboration with other parts of the agency and external collaboration with clients and partners, where you will represent the unit and work towards good relationships. As a Deputy Unit Manager, you will also work strategically with operational goals, skills development, and the development of methods and processes.

The nature of the position involves trust-based working hours, and domestic and international business travel may occur.

You Can

We are looking for someone who has:

  • An academic degree in fields such as political science, law, military science, economics, engineering, or another relevant area, and/or equivalent knowledge acquired through professional experience.
  • Experience working with intelligence production within intelligence or security services.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Very good proficiency in Swedish and English, with a strong ability to express oneself clearly in both oral and written forms.
  • A valid driver's license (B-category).

We consider it an asset if you have:

  • Education from or experience working in the defense sector.
  • Previous experience with personnel responsibility.
  • Previous experience in a leadership position at FRA or with clients.
  • Knowledge in radio, telecommunications, and/or a basic understanding of technology.
  • Competence and/or interest in military issues.
  • Good computer skills.

The workplace is located in southeastern Skåne. Swedish citizenship is a requirement as employment at FRA entails placement in a security class.
