About this role
We are a force that connects, holds together, and develops the county. Within Region Västernorrland, we are all part of something greater.
The Forensic Psychiatric Regional Clinic (RPK) is today one of the country's leading clinics for the care of patients under the Forensic Psychiatric Care Act (LRV). With over 120 care places distributed across 9 departments, the clinic is an important resource to meet national needs in this specialized area. In 2026, RPK will expand to 135 care places, as the facility in Nacksta is being doubled in size and will house all departments, along with a new one. This expansion will further strengthen the clinic's ability to provide high-quality care and support for its patients. Department 90 has a total of 29 positions, including unit manager, nurses, and caregivers. The department consists of 14 inpatient care places and serves as the clinic's intake department. The unit operates with a high level of security awareness based on the clinic's care process, which is divided into five different phases. The work at the department spans from the introductory phase to the outpatient phase. However, the main work occurs within the assessment and treatment phase, which aims to map the patient's needs and provide appropriate treatment, support, and interventions to promote the patient's opportunities for reintegration into society and to prevent the risk of relapse into serious criminal behavior. Department 90 is located in Nacksta, Sundsvall.
We are now seeking an Assistant Unit Manager to join us! The position is a permanent employment in the core profession, and the managerial appointment is time-limited in accordance with the region's leadership policy. As a manager in Region Västernorrland, you represent the employer and exercise leadership grounded in good self-awareness, characterized by honesty, openness, a sense of responsibility, and personal courage. Start date: January 1, 2026.
