About this role
Ref: 20252588
Malmö Latin School is seeking two deputy principals who want to lead a high school where arts, science, and education converge in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment - right in the heart of Malmö. Here, you will work in an environment where artistry, knowledge, and human perspective are at the center. The school is characterized by its aesthetic profile, focus on education, and use of modern technology, creating stimulating instruction that prepares students for future opportunities through creativity and innovation.
We are looking for someone who wants to help develop Malmö Latin's role both as a leader in evidence-based education and as one of the city's central cultural actors. We value leadership built on respect, responsiveness, and collegiate collaboration.
Job Responsibilities
Deputy Principal for Aesthetic Program in Visual Arts and Media, and the Enhanced Media Program:
You will encounter an operation permeated by creativity. The program is characterized by creative processes in film, podcast radio, photography, and digital expression, where students and teachers together drive productions such as Musikhjälpen.
The role also includes responsibility for our enhanced program; an individual program where students work towards a high school diploma in ES Media. There are adapted facilities, smaller groups, and special staff supporting students in their learning and digital creation.
Deputy Principal for Aesthetic Program in Music, Dance, and Theater:
Music, dance, and theater programs are unique environments where the school world meets culture. There is close collaboration with colleges and universities, including the Theater School and Music Conservatory in Malmö.
The operation is characterized by production - performances, tour weeks, and scenic projects that make students active participants in the city's cultural life. As deputy principal, you will lead an operation that is a hybrid between a school and a cultural center, with a clear ambition to be a visible part of Malmö's cultural scene.
Common to both positions, as deputy principal you are responsible for goals, economy, personnel, and quality within your area of responsibility. You are directly subordinate to the principal and operate within the delegation given by the principal.
The assignment includes, among other things:
• Leading, developing, and organizing work at the school unit within your delegation
• Responsible for pedagogical development work in your area
• Driving and following up systematic work environment efforts
• Responsible for budget and ensuring resources are used efficiently
• Collaborating with administrative support functions, other administrations, authorities, guardians, civil society, and other school units
You are part of the school unit's management team and contribute to the holistic perspective of the school's development and results.
Qualifications
Requirements:
• Teaching degree
• Experience in strategic management or coordination in school operations
• Management experience with personnel responsibility
• Very good knowledge of high school as an educational form
• Good knowledge of school governance and regulations
• Excellent Swedish language skills in speech and writing

• Good digital competence
Meriting:
• Completed principal program 30 credits. Alternatively, ongoing principal program
• Experience leading student health work and special education activities
• Experience working in large organizations
• Experience working in aesthetic programs and/or other creative or artistic activities
The assignment requires you to be a confident and courageous leader who can motivate, engage, and empower others to achieve common goals. You have the ability to coordinate different functions and operations, be a natural reference point for others, and create participation through dialogue, trust, and clear communication. You see the big picture and make decisions with the entire operation's best interests in focus. With a goal and result-oriented approach, you plan long-term but adapt when conditions change. You value differences and consider various perspectives in your leadership and decisions.
