Pilängskolan is seeking an Assistant Principal who wants to become part of our fantastic school and team. The school currently has 825 students in grades 2-9. The management team at Pilängskolan consists of a principal and two assistant principals, one primarily responsible for grades 2-6 and one for grades 7-9.
Starting in the fall of 2026, the current Strandskolan will move to Pilängskolan, and we will become a preschool-9th grade school with nearly 1,000 students. In the role of Assistant Principal, you will serve at both Strandskolan and Pilängskolan during the spring semester of 2026, and from the fall of 2026, you will be responsible for preschool-3rd grade at Pilängskolan. You will play a central role in moving Strandskolan's operations to Pilängskolan and be a crucial part of creating a new organization and context at Pilängskolan.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The assignment includes leading and developing pedagogical work together with your colleagues and other school leaders. Along with the principal and assistant principals, you will work on managing Pilängskolan's daily operations and its long-term development. Simultaneously, you will have several operational tasks such as recruitment, employment law management, and scheduling. The role requires you to be a leader who is flexible, trustworthy, responsive, and clear, and who creates good conditions for continuous development of leadership, culture, structure, and systematic approach.
You are experienced in driving projects and see opportunities in changes while engaging and building trust to conduct successful school development. You work towards a learning organization with good relationships with employees, students, and guardians. Furthermore, you will be involved in the school's student health work and hold responsibility for work environment and operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking someone with experience as a principal or assistant principal in a preschool-3rd grade school, who has a pedagogical university degree with teaching certification and a strong interest in leading a school undergoing change. You have excellent digital competence and system proficiency. You have previous experience with significant change processes in school operations and experience or competence in project management. It is meriting if you have experience with scheduling and have completed principal training.
You communicate well with employees, students, and guardians. As a person, you are a clear leader with drive and commitment to your assignment. You value cooperation and open communication but also have a good ability to work independently.
