Årstaskolan is a pre-school to 9th-grade school with approximately 880 students and 120 employees, located across two geographical sites.
Pre-school to 6th grade is situated in the original school near Årsta Square, and 7th to 9th grade is temporarily located at Gullmarsplan.

Your Role
As assistant principal, you have overall operational responsibility for Årstaskolan together with the rest of the school management. You have personnel and work environment responsibility for teachers and educators in the intermediate level. Together with the principal and other school management, you will lead, organize, and follow up student health work.
You report to the principal and belong to the school's management team, which consists of the school's principal, four assistant principals, and an administrative manager. You have close collaboration and together drive the school's continued development and operations. Although your area of responsibility is grades 4-6, you, like others in the management team, have a pre-school to 9th-grade perspective and understand your and your operation's part in the whole.
The role of assistant principal involves exercising leadership close to students and employees. In daily work, you handle meetings and contacts with students, guardians, and employees, often in collaboration with other professionals in the school. The role involves being highly operational under delegated responsibility. As assistant principal, you ensure that teaching is based on scientific grounds and proven experience. As a manager, your role includes responsibility for economy, operations, and personnel within the framework of your assignment.
Your Competence and Leadership
We are seeking someone who has:
- College or university degree with pedagogical orientation and valid teaching certification
- Current and multi-year experience in a leadership position within primary school
- Completed leadership or management group training
- Good knowledge and practical experience of school steering documents
- Good Swedish skills, both spoken and written
It is meritorious if you have:
- Management experience with employee responsibility from school
- Experience with Stockholm City systems such as Varbi, Student Registry, eDok, and Infomentor
- Experience with work distribution and scheduling
- Started or completed the principal program
