JOB DESCRIPTION As the Deputy Principal, you will be part of the management team and work on behalf of the Principal to lead school and operational development within the preschool unit. The role involves supporting the Principal in daily pedagogical leadership and coordination of the activities, as well as serving as a substitute during the Principal's absence. The work aims to strengthen learning through systematic quality work that improves pedagogical outcomes and creates equal opportunities for all children to develop and meet educational requirements. This is done in close collaboration with educators to develop teaching and learning environments. In this role, you will be part of the preschool's child health team and work with child-related cases and various initiatives that promote safety, participation, and development. The assignment is multifaceted and takes place in a dynamic environment where conditions can change rapidly. Therefore, the tasks may vary over time and include everything from operational and personnel planning, schedule management, and substitute procurement to coordinating safety groups and children's influence, as well as developing new routines that strengthen the operation. QUALIFICATIONS To succeed in the role of Deputy Principal, we are looking for someone with a pedagogical university degree or other qualifications deemed equivalent by the employer, along with experience in pedagogical work within preschool. It is advantageous if your education focuses on preschool operations, if you have studied organization and leadership, or completed principal training. We also welcome experience in the specific operational area, previous work as a school leader, familiarity with scheduling, or other typical school administrative tasks. You need to have good pedagogical insight and a holistic view of learning and care for children and students aged 1-16 years, as well as a solid understanding of the school's mission and governing documents and the ability to implement these in practice. The role also requires a very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing, as well as good IT skills, and it is advantageous if you have basic knowledge of finance. A police background check is a requirement. As a person, you are flexible and accustomed to adapting to changing conditions, while also being able to handle the role of middle manager with the dilemmas that come with it. You are structured and resilient under stress, plan and organize your work efficiently, and maintain calm even when many things are happening simultaneously. Furthermore, you are attentive and have a very good ability to collaborate and lead based on trust by creating participation, listening, providing feedback, and managing conflicts constructively. You possess good analytical skills and can understand complex contexts, prioritize correctly, and view the operation from a holistic perspective. Finally, you are engaged and clear in your communication, create motivation and shared understanding, and contribute energy and drive to daily work.
