Henån School currently has approximately 580 students from preschool to grade 9 in both regular and adapted primary education. We have over 90 staff members from various professional backgrounds working at the school. The school consists of three units, each with its own principal: grades F-6 (with after-school care), grades 7-9, and Adapted Primary School grades 1-9 (with after-school care).
At Henån School, we work towards an open climate with good cohesion, as it is important that we care for one another. We focus on health factors and strive to do more of what helps students feel good and succeed in school. The entire school actively engages in value-based work through PALS in collaboration with the VG region.

Your responsibilities
As the Deputy Principal, you will participate in the leadership of the school’s internal operations to ensure that preschool, school, and after-school care are conducted in accordance with the Education Act, curriculum, and other given guidelines. You will drive, develop, and actively participate in the school’s efforts to provide the best conditions for our students to develop good subject knowledge, social skills, a positive self-image, and an optimistic outlook on the future.
You will be part of the school’s internal management team. Here, you will contribute to the strategic and long-term development of the school and after-school care. Together with the school management, you will be responsible for systematic quality work through planning, leadership, and follow-up of operations. You will identify what is urgent in the operations to meet all students' needs and create good conditions for our employees. You will collaborate with the principal regarding budget and finances and ensure that allocated resources are used efficiently.
You will lead and develop the educational work and collaboration between preschool, school, and after-school care, ensuring that teaching is based on proven experience and scientific principles.
The role of Deputy Principal means that you exercise leadership close to students and staff. You will have personnel responsibility and responsibility for student health issues. In your daily work, you will be responsible for meetings with students, guardians, and staff. You are also expected to collaborate with other professionals and external actors. Relational competence is a key success factor, and through trustworthy leadership, clear structure, and good communication, you will work to provide students and staff with good results and a positive working environment.
You will work closely with the principal and the student health team and be responsible for the unit's work regarding safety and study environment.

You should also have:
Teaching certification and documented experience within grades F-6
Completed or ongoing principal training or other relevant leadership training
Experience in school leadership roles
Experience in implementing school development
Personal qualities are highly valued.
