The unit is responsible for water activity management, handling grants for local water conservation measures, assignments in water and fishing issues, implementation of several water directives, the national plan for modern environmental conditions for hydropower, water protection areas, collaboration in drinking water supply, wetland coordination, national marine area protection coordination, action programs for water-related endangered species, water-related environmental goals, aquatic invasive species, and coordination of environmental monitoring and liming. The unit consists of 4 somewhat clearer work groups that exchange a lot of information between themselves. Cross-sectoral work also occurs to a large extent, together with other units at the County Administrative Board. Job Responsibilities You have an employment as an administrator or another position as a basis with an appointment as deputy manager, which runs for three years. As deputy unit manager, you will lead parts of the unit and be responsible for personnel, operations, and work environment. You will lead the operations together with the unit manager and can replace the unit manager during their absence. The largest work groups in the Water Unit are "Action Coordination", "Water Activities", and "Preparation Secretariat". We are looking for someone who will have operational and personnel responsibility for at least one of these groups. Since there will be a focus on implementing the national plan for modern environmental conditions for hydropower in the coming years, we want you to take special responsibility in your managerial role related to these issues. There are great opportunities to shape the content of the position together with the unit manager. We help each other with all tasks in the unit, and the authority's assignments may also make additional tasks beyond those described in the advertisement relevant. Qualifications Relevant natural science and/or legal university degree. Documented experience working with water and environmental issues related to the Environmental Code. Meriting: It is meriting if you have experience working at a county administrative board with measures in water environments related to decisions and judgments concerning water activities. It is also meriting to have experience leading people within subject matters. The ability to express oneself accessibly in speech and writing is a prerequisite for the work. We primarily seek someone with experience working within the County Administrative Board and who has experience with the subject matters that the Water Unit handles. We place great importance on your personal suitability. We are looking for someone with drive, commitment, and a good ability to create positive relationships internally and externally. You have good pedagogical and communication skills. As a person, you are confident, structured, and have strong analytical abilities. You are solution-oriented in your approach to collaboration. Conditions B driver's license is required. The position is placed in a security class. The employment will be preceded by a security assessment and registry check.
