Assistant Department Manager with Focus on Digitalization

We are seeking a Deputy Division Head who, together with the management team, creates direction, engagement, and effective working methods to help the agency achieve its goals. The Division for Digitalization, Business Support, and Development works to ensure that the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency operates efficiently and legally, and strives to achieve results. The division has a broad mandate with many different competencies that will provide purposeful support. The division's digitalization mission includes responsibility for application management, IT operations, cybersecurity, digital workplace, information management, development, and architecture. The division has approximately 160 employees and is responsible for several major external suppliers. Your Work Tasks The division is led by a Division Head, two Deputy Division Heads, and 10 Unit Managers. As a Deputy Division Head, you will help lead the division together with the rest of the management team. You will replace the Division Head when needed. Although you are expected to represent the entire division's operations, you have a specific mandate to work towards efficient digitalization and development within the agency. You will ensure that collaboration in digitalization work functions well within the division and that work is conducted in accordance with the agency's direction. You will also represent the digitalization area externally together with the Division Head. You will lead the new development office in the division with approximately 3 employees. You will work closely with the Division Head and the other Deputy Division Head, working towards efficient division management. You will support Unit Managers on an ongoing basis to ensure optimal implementation of operations. As a Deputy Division Head, you will be part of the spider group with other divisions, with an important mission to facilitate the division's work and the overall process. Your Competence Requirements for the Position • Academic degree in a relevant field, e.g., IT, Systems Science, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer. • Experience with management or leadership roles, preferably in complex organizations. • Good understanding of agency mandates, governance, and regulations. • Experience with strategic digitalization and change management work. • Documented experience leading and driving development work, preferably in the public sector. • Experience leading digitalization projects or establishing new working methods related to digital transformation. Meritorious • Experience building or leading development offices or similar functions. • Experience with change communication and driving cultural change. • Experience strategically working with IT suppliers. • Knowledge of the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency's operations. About the Position This is a permanent full-time position that begins with a six-month probationary period. The position is located in Stockholm or Östersund.
