About this role
The City of Västerås has removed the personal letter from the application process. We do this to create a better and more fair recruitment process. When you submit your application, you will be asked to answer a number of questions that will be an important part of our selection work.
Do you want to make a difference for people in need of support? Here you'll have the opportunity to work with individualized interventions that make a real difference and contribute to a secure and meaningful everyday life for those we serve.
Here, you'll be met with strong commitment and pride in our work. We strive to always develop and create the best possible conditions for our employees.
Your Responsibilities
You will investigate, make decisions, and follow up on interventions according to the Social Services Act (SoL). With the individual's needs in focus, you will work from a holistic perspective and collaborate with relatives, care providers, and other actors connected to the individual's needs.
At the Elder Care Unit, you will work with individuals living at home or in special housing. Here you will collaborate extensively with home care services to ensure that interventions are carried out according to decisions. You will also collaborate with other social services units and handle incoming concern reports from the public.
Your Competence
We are seeking candidates who are trained social workers or have another relevant bachelor's degree combined with education in social law. Previous experience with official authority under SoL is meritorious. We use the documentation system Pulsen Combine, so experience with this or similar systems is an advantage.
To thrive in the role, it is important that you are courageous, flexible, and comfortable working at a high pace. We prefer candidates who are accustomed to handling fast processes and enjoy working on multiple tasks simultaneously. It is important to quickly adapt and plan according to what the situation requires.
A manual transmission driver's license is a requirement.
We Offer
With us, you'll get a meaningful and developmental role where you become part of a committed team working to make a difference. We are proud of our work and always strive to create the best conditions for our employees. We apply trust-based leadership and see participation as a given. We welcome new thoughts and perspectives and always strive to improve our processes.
The new Social Services Act brings new and exciting opportunities to develop our work, and here you can be part of influencing! We offer a comprehensive introduction, continuous guidance, and support from experienced colleagues and team leaders. Here you'll have the opportunity to grow in your professional role and actively contribute to the development of our operations. We work from the core value of "Always the Best Possible Encounter" and have a solution-focused approach that permeates our work.
There is an opportunity to combine on-site work with remote work, up to two days from home per week. Our office is located near the train and bus station.
Here you'll become part of something bigger! With warmth and respect, we show decisiveness in both large and small matters. We live our core values in our interactions with each other and those we serve. Every day, year-round, we ensure that Västerås functions. Together with your approximately 11,500 colleagues throughout the city, you'll have Sweden's most important job.
