Welcome to us Do you want to work with public authority functions and are you interested in the elderly demographic? The Elderly Assistance Assessment team is responsible for public authority functions according to the Social Services Act for individuals over 65 years old. We investigate, decide, order, and follow up on services for our target group. The area is led by a district manager and includes four units within the elderly assistance assessment area, comprising a total of 81 dedicated employees. In our team, we support each other during busy periods, share knowledge, and enjoy our work. The role of Assistance Officer/Guide In your role as Assistance Officer/Guide, you will work preventively against evictions and motivate clients over 65 years old in the district. This role includes public authority functions such as investigating needs, assessing and proposing decisions on services, as well as following up on approved services. A significant part of your role is to collaborate with others, such as landlords, representatives, primary care, inpatient care, and other units within Social Services. The work largely consists of documentation and communication in meetings with others, which places high demands on good communication skills, both spoken and written. What can we offer you? Your qualifications and experience We are looking for someone who has: - A degree in Social Work - Good knowledge of the Social Services Act and case law - Relevant experience in public authority functions within elderly care, all forms of financial assistance, or social psychiatry - Practical and current experience in eviction prevention work and homelessness issues. Meritorious: - Good knowledge of the City of Stockholm's guidelines - Familiarity with the housing options in the City of Stockholm - Experience in motivational interviewing in various situations and environments - Knowledge of rental law - Knowledge of the discharge process according to the Act on Collaboration upon Discharge from Inpatient Health Care We seek someone with strong communication skills, who speaks and writes clearly, and can listen and adapt to the audience and situation. You will have contact with many people both internally and externally and need to have good collaboration skills to succeed in this role. You are flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances, and you have a very good ability to follow applicable governing documents and practices. We need someone who is self-driven, solution-oriented, and capable of working with complex issues and analyzing problems in various parts to resolve them.
