Our vision and goals are aimed at delivering the highest quality care, always keeping the patient in focus. We offer healthcare services locally and regionally, as well as highly specialized care to patients nationwide and internationally. Our employees are our strength, contributing to knowledge exchanges nationally and internationally. With digital tools and new work methods, we can simplify daily hospital operations and provide modern, accessible, and highly effective care. Regional Laboratory Medicine belongs to Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Area 4, and has a clear coordination mandate for the entire Västra Götaland region. The organization consists of laboratory medical operations at Södra Älvsborg Hospital, Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Hospitals in the West, and NU Healthcare. About Us We are seeking employees who want to work with us in Clinical Pathology at Sahlgrenska University Hospital. We are a regional organization in transition and development, focusing on digitalization in diagnostics. We are now looking for someone interested in working within histopathology, with a focus on immunohistochemistry. At Pathology Laboratories 3 at Sahlgrenska Hospital, we are around twenty employees, primarily biomedical analysts. The work is predominantly performed in teams together with physicians. Our tasks include handling immunohistochemical analysis orders on tissue samples to facilitate accurate diagnosis and communicate test results to treating physicians to ensure optimal patient treatment. The work is largely performed using automated staining machines, but standard tissue sample processing using histopathological methods is also included. We are increasingly working with digital image management of scanned slides after staining as part of our ongoing development work. About the Position At Pathology Laboratories, we work in teams, and you will collaborate with other biomedical analysts, biologists, laboratory technicians, laboratory assistants, nursing assistants, and physicians. The work involves paraffin embedding, sectioning, frozen specimen cutting, and immuno- and histochemical staining. There is also handling of acute samples from transplant patients in one of the units, which includes an on-call line. We will provide more details about this during a potential interview. The position is time-limited for one year. Everyone who joins us receives internal training, and we work with certification to ensure quality training. About You You are a licensed biomedical analyst. You have excellent Swedish communication skills, both verbal and written, and are accustomed to using digital tools in your work. Previous experience in laboratory work is advantageous, with prior pathology laboratory experience being a significant plus. A Master's degree in a relevant field is meritorious. We are seeking someone who is meticulous, can plan and prioritize work, and adapt to changing work circumstances. The job requires some manual dexterity as parts of the process are performed manually. You should enjoy collaboration, work well in teams, and communicate effectively with colleagues and collaborators. With the patient in focus, loyalty, commitment, and care for one another, we collectively contribute to a positive work environment. We hope you want to become part of our team! Selection and interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis. Warmly welcome to apply! Application Västra Götaland Region prefers that you register your application through the recruitment system.
