About Us
We are seeking employees who want to work with us in Clinical Pathology at Sahlgrenska University Hospital.
We are a regional organization in transformation and development, focusing on digitalization in diagnostics. We are now looking for someone interested in working in histopathology with a focus on immunohistochemistry.
At Pathology Laboratories 3 at Sahlgrenska Hospital, we are about twenty employees, primarily biomedical analysts. The work is mostly performed in teams together with physicians. Our tasks include handling orders for immunohistochemical analyses on tissue samples to facilitate accurate diagnosis and communicate test results to treating physicians so patients can receive optimal treatment. Work is largely performed using automated staining machines, but standard tissue sample processing using histopathological methods is also included. We are increasingly working with digital image management of scanned slides after staining as part of our ongoing development work.
About the Job
At Pathology Laboratories, we work in teams, and you will collaborate with biomedical analysts, biologists, laboratory technicians, laboratory assistants, nurses, and physicians. The work involves paraffin embedding, sectioning, frozen specimen cutting, immunohistochemical and histochemical staining. Handling acute samples from transplant patients at one of the units, including an on-call line, is also part of the work. We will provide more details about this during a potential interview.
All incoming employees receive internal training, and we work with certification to ensure quality training.
About You
You are a biologist specializing in cell and molecular biology. You have excellent Swedish communication skills, both verbal and written, and are experienced in using digital tools at work. Experience in laboratory work is meritorious, with previous pathology laboratory experience being a significant plus. A Master's degree in a relevant field is advantageous.
We are seeking someone who is detail-oriented, can plan and prioritize work, and adapt to changing work circumstances. The job requires some manual dexterity as parts of the process are performed manually. You should be collaborative, enjoy teamwork, and communicate effectively with colleagues and collaborators.
With patients at the center, loyalty, commitment, and mutual care, we collectively contribute to a positive work environment. We hope you want to become part of our team!
Selection and interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis.
Warmly welcome to apply!
