The library services in Lomma include two operations with libraries in both Bjärred and Lomma. Bjärred Library is an integrated school and public library located within the premises of Bjärehov School. Welcome to work with us! JOB DESCRIPTION We are now seeking an engaged and driven librarian with a focus on children's and youth activities, based at Bjärred Library. You will be an important part of a team that is currently working actively to strengthen the group and develop new working methods together. We are a small team that supports each other and collaborates to fulfill the library's goals and mission. It is essential that you enjoy collaborating and working together, both with your colleagues and with external stakeholders. You are curious, attentive, and enjoy developing ideas together with others. Bjärred Library, which is organizationally part of the Library in Lomma, is a well-visited community library with a strong focus on children and families. Some staffing and planning work takes place at both libraries. Together with other staff working with children and youth, you will develop the strategic work towards this target group. Currently, we are particularly focused on the development of children's rights and the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Experience and knowledge in this area are advantageous. A new cultural center is being built in Bjärred, in which the library will play a central role in its development. Bjärred Library is an integrated school-public library with a school librarian working at 100%. As a children's librarian, you will work closely with the school librarian to create the best library for children. Collaboration occurs both in long-term planning and in the daily work at the library as we share facilities and collections. Together, you will create an accessible and attractive library for all children and youth. Your responsibilities - Plan, implement, and evaluate activities and programs for children - Staff the library, guide, and inspire library visitors - Work with promoting reading both at the library and through outreach - Conduct library tours and present to groups - Collaborate with preschools, schools, and other local stakeholders - Contribute to a positive, safe, and developmental work environment - Participate in other library tasks as needed - Engage in and drive library development together with colleagues QUALIFICATIONS Qualifications - Degree in Library and Information Science - Experience working in networks, building relationships, and collaborating with others - You are flexible and have a strong sense of responsibility for the entire library operation. - You have experience working with children and youth. - Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others - Experience providing good service with a positive attitude. - Good digital skills and preferably experience with social media and other digital tools Meritorious - Knowledge of the Convention on the Rights of the Child - Experience working with children's rights within libraries OTHER We offer - A development-oriented environment with a focus on quality, participation, and community benefit - The opportunity to influence and shape the content of the operations - Competent and engaged colleagues - Continuing education and good opportunities for professional development In Lomma Municipality, you have access to benefits according to our collective agreement.
