Lerum Library is seeking a branch librarian for Floda Library. The library is centrally located in Floda, near the train station and Lake Sävelången. Floda Library operates as an open library and is one of five libraries in Lerum Municipality. The library is part of the Culture and Library unit, which, along with the Cultural School and Recreation unit, forms the Cultural and Leisure operations area. The unit has just over twenty employees.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Do you want to advance the library services in Floda? Then this is the position for you!
You will be responsible for the operations at Floda Library, with a particular focus on adult services.
As the branch librarian, your duties will include planning, coordinating, and monitoring the work and services at Floda Library. You will actively work with inclusion and participation. You will listen to the work group and library users, foster relationships, and meet expectations through collaboration both within municipal operations and externally with civil society.
Along with colleagues at Floda Library and other libraries in Lerum, you will drive and develop adult services and promote reading through media, activities, and digital channels.
Information services are an important part of the job. You will primarily staff Floda Library but will also serve at Lerum Library. You will work according to a schedule that includes evening and weekend duties.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who have a degree in library and information science or another relevant higher education. You should have experience working in a library and in promoting reading. In the role of branch librarian, you need to be able to lead operational meetings, create engagement, and foster participation. You are stable and have a genuine interest in working with people. You are self-motivated, take responsibility, organize your work independently, and adopt a strategic approach. You find it easy to build relationships and possess good collaborative skills. Since we exist for our users, it is important that you are service-oriented and accommodating. We also expect you to have a flexible approach and view operations from a holistic perspective.
It is advantageous if you have experience leading groups.
You have good digital proficiency and can easily create content and use social media in your daily work.
OTHER
The libraries in Lerum use the Koha library system.
Interviews will be conducted Wednesday to Friday in week 49 and Monday to Tuesday in week 50.
