You can read more about working at Malmö University: Work with us We are seeking A Librarian Specializing in Research Support Content and Responsibilities We are seeking a librarian specializing in research support within the Media and Scientific Publishing department. You will play an active role in shaping the future of research support at the university library. Malmö University is working to make research openly accessible, and the library is tasked with coordinating and monitoring Open Science work, performing operational tasks for Malmö University Press, and managing the institution's publication database. Additionally, a project is ongoing in 2025-2026 aimed at further developing the library's research-near support. The project will systematically strengthen and streamline the service and support offered by the entire library to researchers and doctoral students at the university. The work primarily involves supporting researchers and research environments in their scientific communication, with a focus on publication. This includes supporting researchers in using the DiVA publication database. The role involves monitoring and working with Open Science issues. The area is developing, with examples of completed initiatives including mapping of Rights Retention Strategy and publication platforms and their significance for Malmö University's research. Publication support involves using various systems, requiring an understanding and knowledge of different technical platforms. You will also participate in development work with colleagues and interact with library users at the information desk and chat. Additional tasks may arise. Qualifications For this position, you must have: • A degree in library and information science or equivalent • Experience working with research support at a university or college library • Excellent Swedish and English skills, both verbal and written As you will closely collaborate with researchers, teachers, students, and library colleagues, you must enjoy working in a group and be flexible and self-driven. You should have strong communication skills in both verbal and written formats, capable of individual and group interactions. You must have a good understanding of people's different prerequisites and adapt your communication style to the recipient. Meriting for the position would be experience in one or more specialized areas of researcher support (in no particular order): • Academic publishing • Publication support work • Bibliometrics • Technology and system development in scientific communication • AI application • Open science Workplace The position is at the university library, placed in the Media and Scientific Publishing department. Malmö University Library has approximately 50 employees and is organized into two departments: Media and Scientific Publishing, and Pedagogical Activities and Learning Environments. The departments contain various operational areas represented through different groupings. Each employee belongs to a department but may also be part of groups in the other department.
