BI Developer for City Decision Support

You'll work from our activity-based office near the central station, sitting with colleagues from different departments. We work location-independently but value meeting and working on our shared mission: leading and coordinating the city's operations in overarching and common areas with holistic responsibility. We offer support and services to the city council, city administrations and companies - and in some cases directly to Helsingborg residents. For the Economics and Governance Department, we are now seeking an additional engaged BI Developer who wants to help develop the city's BI system to support the city's work in follow-up, analysis, and decision-making. You'll be part of a unit with another BI developer, an architect, four process leaders, a process developer, and three social analysts. The unit's mission is to support city governance and strengthen systematic work with analysis, operational planning, and impact focus across the entire organization. We work closely with all of the city's different operations. Our BI platform, called the decision support system, consists of a SQL data warehouse and Qlik Sense as the BI tool. The decision support system retrieves data from numerous sources, including various operational systems of administrations and the city's finance and HR systems. The decision support system currently contains 80 applications and has approximately 1,900 users annually. Job Responsibilities We have an ambitious vision to be a cutting-edge decision support system and work on many exciting and challenging assignments. As a BI Developer, you'll translate organizational needs into usable analysis tools. Job tasks include: • Listening to and converting organizational needs • Designing and building applications in Qlik Sense • Managing, optimizing, and maintaining the platform • Contributing to platform visualization and user-friendly solutions development • Developing in SQL server as needed • Supporting each other within the team during our development process and the city's transformation journey Qualifications We're seeking candidates with a college/university degree in computer science or another education deemed relevant by the employer, or equivalent documented work experience. You should have several years of experience developing and managing BI solutions. Experience with the Qlik platform, database development in SQL server, or web development is meritorious. You are analytical, communicative, and can work both independently and as a team player. We expect you to have a structured approach, be precise, persistent, and quality-conscious. Your ability to express yourself and write in Swedish should be well-developed. As we work extensively together, it's crucial that you work well with other people. As part of a team, it's important that you can relate to your colleagues in a responsive manner by listening, communicating, and constructively resolving situations that may arise, while also contributing your perspectives, abilities, and competencies. We believe you have: • Knowledge of designing and developing data models and ETL processes • Ability to ensure data quality and optimize performance • Experience with data integration, validation, testing, and monitoring • Ability to transform business requirements into technical solutions • Ability to propose and implement improvements in data and analysis processes • A strong holistic view - solving complex data challenges and experience developing and implementing analysis models in operational processes Significant emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
