At the Swedish Migration Agency, we work on one of our time's major societal issues – migration. In total, we are approximately 6,000 people here, and we have an extraordinarily important job!
We are now seeking decision-makers for the examination operations in Gothenburg and Mölndal.

What does a decision-maker do?
As a decision-maker, you provide support and develop your colleagues in legal application, subject matters, and investigation methodology. You identify and analyze development areas and develop improvement proposals. On behalf of the unit, you gather and maintain knowledge and monitor standards, guidelines, and practices.
You process, investigate, and make decisions in cases supported by laws and regulations. The decisions you make have legal implications for individuals and affect their rights to benefits, rights, and obligations. You handle appeals and follow up on cases during presentations to ensure high legal quality. Your tasks include making confidentiality assessments before releasing information and administering case files and documents. You also work to guide and provide service to individuals with a case at the Migration Agency and other stakeholders with various inquiries.
Who are you?
You have a good understanding of how humans acquire knowledge and people's different conditions, so you adapt your communication style to the recipient and communicate clearly. You ensure messages are understood and expectations are clear for all involved parties. You remind and follow up. Collaboration is important to you, and you relate to other people in a sensitive and smooth manner. You listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts constructively. Moreover, you are meticulous and highly aware of goals and quality standards, placing great importance on meeting these. You are driven by goal and result-oriented thinking in prioritization, planning, and action, but have no problem changing direction when goals change. You work well with complex issues, analyzing and breaking down problems into their components and solving complicated challenges.
In our work as civil servants, high demands are also placed on judgment and a strong security and confidentiality awareness.
Requirements:
- Academic degree with legal, social science, or behavioral science orientation
- Several years of current experience handling qualified administrative legal cases
- Current experience with case management under the Aliens Act and/or Citizenship Act
- Good communication skills and ability to express yourself well verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
Meriting factors include:
- Experience in conveying knowledge about legal application
- Experience with coaching approaches
- Good experience with examination cases at the Migration Agency
- Current experience as a decision-maker at the Migration Agency

Employment type: Recruitment is for permanent positions with possible probationary period and time-limited positions.

Several positions are placed in citizenship case examination – the following applies:
Security screening with register control according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) is a requirement for candidates considered for service within citizenship examination. Based on this, Swedish citizenship is also required. The position therefore presupposes an approved security screening.
