About this role

In Trelleborg, we work together for a growing successful community where it is good to live. Our 61 villages and 21 neighborhoods are creative meeting places that are buzzing with life. Here, we want things to happen, share stories about them, and come just as we are. This allows us to welcome others in the same generous and curious way. Welcome to take your place on this journey! The mission of the Social Services Department is to work with social services and provide support so that everyone in the municipality feels safe and has the same opportunities in life. We want everyone to be able to be active and participate in society. With a focus on respect for the individual's right to decide over their own life, we are responsible for three important areas: care and support, assistance for people with disabilities, and help for individuals and families. Our goal is for everyone to receive the support and care they need. Workplace At the Dependency and Adult Unit, you will be part of a competent and dedicated team consisting of addiction educators, social workers, and therapists. The unit consists of an authority section, a treatment section, a collective housing facility, a low-threshold housing option for individuals with ongoing dependency issues, as well as our operations based on the Housing First method. We place great emphasis on motivational and change work, and we are proud of our well-developed care chain for individuals with dependency issues. We work from a holistic and family perspective with the individual at the center. Your placement will be in the workgroup responsible for our social support in Housing First, independent living, collective housing, and low-threshold housing. We invest in professional development in line with national guidelines for addiction and dependency care. Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Signs of Safety are used as common methods within the Individual and Family Care department. A change initiative is underway in the unit based on the co-morbidity reform and the new Social Services Act. The municipality offers wellness compensation. Communication options are good, and the workplace is located about a 10-minute walk from the bus and train station. Job Responsibilities You will work with social support and supervision for adults with harmful use and dependency. The work includes, among other things, motivational work, social skills training, and more practical tasks. An important responsibility is to guide your clients in understanding how society functions and is structured. Client work primarily takes place individually but may also occur in groups. A significant portion of the work is conducted within our operations based on the Housing First method, which also includes a communal space. In addition, you will provide social support in individuals' own homes and in low-threshold housing. You will work with both individuals with ongoing harmful use and dependency as well as those in recovery. You will be part of a team and work closely with other colleagues within the unit. Collaboration with external actors such as the municipality's labor market administration, LARO reception, and healthcare providers is also an important part of the job. The work is varied and can sometimes be emotionally demanding. Client work is carried out on behalf of social workers, for whom you are responsible for the execution of the intervention. Documentation in the operational system Lifecare is included. Qualifications We are looking for a curious, positive, and engaged employee who easily establishes contact and maintains sustainable relationships with all kinds of people. You need to have experience working in a motivational and supportive manner with individuals who are currently using substances harmfully as well as those recovering from dependency. Your educational background should be post-secondary with a focus on addiction/dependency, such as a social educator, treatment educator, or social worker. Additional relevant training includes basic training in MI, relapse prevention, or other methods focused on harmful use and dependency. Experience working with the Housing First method is an advantage. A respectful, low-arousal, and personal approach is important in our work. Your ability to set boundaries needs to be strong. As an addiction educator, you should be able to work both independently and as part of a team. You need to be structured and have an easy time planning and organizing your work. Furthermore, you should have strong communication skills and be pedagogical, proactive, and creative. In the role of addiction educator, personal maturity and resilience are required. Some computer skills and documentation experience are necessary. You should have a good understanding of how society is structured and functions to guide those you work with. You are expected to contribute to the unit's development and change efforts. A valid driver's license (B) is required. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. A satisfactory extract from the criminal record must be presented before a job offer is made.
