About this role
Sundsvall Municipality is one of Northern Sweden's largest employers with around 8,000 employees and over 300 professions. Together, we fulfill one of society's most important missions – creating value and benefit for residents, businesses, and future generations. Regardless of our specific area, we work towards the same goal: to be a great place to live, work, and thrive.
We are currently in an exciting development phase. We are pioneers in digital development and artificial intelligence, leading the work to create smart solutions for the public sector of the future.
Sundsvall plays a central role in the green transition in northern Sweden. We are convinced that the right places for this transformation are here. As a municipality, we are preparing to grow by preparing land, creating new educational opportunities, marketing the municipality, and welcoming new inhabitants from around the world.
We are seeking two employees for time-limited positions at Sundsvall Municipality's Recruitment and Staffing Unit, located at the Service Center. The unit consists of recruitment specialists, temporary staff coordinators, and staffing consultants who work together to recruit and staff temporary personnel across the municipality's various operations. The assignment covers both urgent needs and temporary positions up to six months, involving comprehensive, municipality-wide work.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The staffing consultant role involves ensuring that our operations have access to the right resources when regular staff are absent. This includes both permanent pool employees and the municipality's hourly temporary staff. We work according to the "digital first" principle, meaning all staffing is primarily managed by our digital booking assistant. Work shifts that cannot be booked digitally for various reasons will be handled manually by you as a staffing consultant.
As a staffing consultant, you are responsible for staffing according to schedule, staffing telephone support, and establishing and updating routine documents and guides as needed. The role also includes guiding and training in our Timecare Pool staffing system, and participating in the development of existing and new digital solutions. The assignment also involves proactively identifying operational staffing support needs, including temporary staff follow-up according to an annual plan, with the goal of providing long-term and efficient support to our operations.
Together with other colleagues in the unit, you are responsible for achieving the department's goals. You will also be involved in the unit's efficiency work and the development of our working methods.
The unit continuously works on improvements, which means the operation may change based on organizational needs and goals. This may also mean that, depending on your skills, you may have the opportunity to take on other tasks within the department.
Work is currently conducted according to a five-week schedule with varying working hours during daytime and weekends. Typically, one weekend per five-week period is included.
Temporary Position 100%: March 1, 2026 to February 28, 2027
Temporary Position 75%: June 1, 2026 to May 31, 2027

You have excellent IT skills and are accustomed to working with various digital systems, as these are our primary work tools. You should also have good proficiency in the Office package, especially Word and Excel. The following qualifications are meritorious:

The operation is event-driven, meaning assignments and conditions can change quickly. Therefore, you need to be flexible and stress-resistant. You follow routines and processes but also see development opportunities and actively contribute to improvements. You enjoy working independently but also in close collaboration with colleagues, managers, and clients, where you can prioritize and make decisions in various matters. We are seeking someone who is engaged, solution-focused, service-oriented, and wants to help develop our operations.
