Lighting Engineer

The Operations and Service Administration provides Karlskrona Municipality with essential community services and internal support to the municipality's departments. The Street/Park Department is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the municipality's streets, lighting, parks, traffic, investment projects, as well as swimming and playgrounds, among other things. We are currently seeking a Lighting Engineer for our Street/Traffic Unit. We offer a stimulating and developing role with great variety, where you will work on complex and challenging issues. As a Lighting Engineer, you will be responsible for the overall management of the municipality's street lighting—from planning and operation to development and improvement. RESPONSIBILITIES In the coming years, Karlskrona Municipality will undertake extensive investments in our lighting facilities. As a Lighting Engineer with us, you will lead this work together with your two colleagues. Your tasks will include managing investment projects for the municipality's street lighting, focusing on developing cost-effective and long-term sustainable solutions, as well as ensuring proper documentation throughout the process. Each sub-project should contribute to an overall system where our lighting facilities meet applicable functional and documentation requirements. The role is broad and also includes tasks related to procurement, investigation, design, documentation, and modernization of existing lighting facilities. You will need to be prepared to develop your own routines to ensure a sustainable working method. The position is part of our emergency preparedness organization. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with great commitment and knowledge of lighting issues. You have strong collaboration skills and are accustomed to structuring, planning, and following up on work. Since you will be in contact with the public, consultants, contractors, authorities, and politicians, we expect you to express yourself well in both speech and writing. Your personal qualities are very important to us, and we will place great emphasis on personal suitability. Requirements - You are an educated lighting designer, preparer, or electrical designer, or have equivalent work experience. - Experience working with lighting issues. - A valid driver's license (B category). Meritorious - Experience in budgeting and financial follow-up. - Experience in project management and emergency service. - Knowledge and experience in public procurement, GIS, and contract law. - Electrical qualifications.
