About this role

The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements secure care for youth. We do this in youth homes and facilities for adults with substance abuse across the country. At SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. Regardless of where you work in our organization or what position you hold, you contribute to creating life-changing transformations. SiS Youth Home Tysslinge, located outside Södertälje, receives non-compulsory school-age boys with psychosocial issues as well as those involved in crime and substance abuse. Job Description Do you want to help create life-changing differences for vulnerable individuals? Then the position of treatment educator at SiS is a meaningful challenge. SiS Youth Home Tysslinge is in a phase of development and expansion as we will soon reopen one of our units. Therefore, we are looking for several treatment educators for permanent positions. Are you ready for an exciting challenge where you can make a difference? Apply for the job today! SiS Youth Home Tysslinge is a high-security institution that accommodates youth with high risks of threats, violence, and absconding. After the reopening of two units, the institution will have a total of seven units. The units receive youth placed under the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU) and youth sentenced under the Act on Secure Youth Care (LSU). One of the units consists of places for youth who are cared for in isolation for a period (VIE). In the role of treatment educator, you will work in a team and together you will be responsible for ensuring that the youth in our care receive the structure, security, care, and treatment they need. We encounter youth in crisis, which means we must support individuals in their daily lives through individually tailored and qualified care and motivational work with clear structures. With the support of your and your colleagues' knowledge in care and treatment work, you will actively contribute to the implementation of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work for planning and follow-up of treatment. During daytime hours, you will also function as a teaching assistant, contributing to the youth's schooling and leisure activities. Since SiS Youth Home Tysslinge has the highest security classification within SiS, this means you need to work with a high level of risk awareness. You contribute to maintaining safety in accordance with our written instructions and routines. This is a job for those who can endure and want to create security and safety in the often very difficult life situations of the youth. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied. As a public servant, it is important that you act professionally and in accordance with objectivity and legal certainty. You share our vision of being a place for change, which permeates our interactions, commitment, and approach. As a new employee, you will undergo SiS's basic training. The training combines theory with a guided introduction and prepares you for the treatment role within SiS's operations. We will conduct a joint introduction either in week 51 (December 15 - 19) or week 4 (January 19 - 23), and it is therefore desirable that you can participate during these weeks. The training will take place on-site at Tysslinge.
