The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for youth and adults with substance abuse issues. We provide this care in youth homes and facilities for adults with addiction across the country. At SiS, your work life becomes an exciting challenge. SiS Youth Home Fagared accommodates non-school-age boys with psychosocial problems, criminal behavior, and substance abuse. We have departments in Lindome, Öxnevalla, and Gothenburg. Job Description Do you want to help create a life-changing impact for vulnerable individuals? Then the role of treatment pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. The assignment as a treatment pedagogue in our treatment departments at the Öxnevalla unit in Horred, Marks Municipality, is challenging and complex yet very rewarding. At the Öxnevalla unit, we have two secure treatment departments where you, as a treatment pedagogue, will work on building safe relationships and contribute to ensuring that our youth receive the security and stability they need to break old habits. We are currently seeking several new employees for this role. The goal of your assignment is to create hope, progress, and meaning in life situations affected by psychosocial problems, exclusion, and addiction. You will work on building secure relationships, as well as utilizing selected and effective treatment methods. Navigating this journey at various stages of the youths' lives is a tough and challenging task on all levels. You will work in a team of dedicated colleagues, and with your combined expertise, you have the opportunity to achieve good results. We operate based on our core values: Respect, Care, and Clarity. As a new employee, you will undergo SiS's basic training program lasting 10 weeks. The training combines theory with a guided introduction and prepares you for the role of a treatment provider in SiS's operations. Qualifications To succeed in your role, you have a solid positive view of humanity. You are motivated to help individuals in vulnerable life situations and share SiS's values of being a place for change. Furthermore, you possess a strong ability to foster engagement and participation among our youth. As a person, you are self-assured and easily build relationships with both the youth and other staff members. You have good communication skills and can maintain your composure even in stressful situations. You collaborate well with others and can handle conflicts constructively. You should also have: • Completed and approved upper secondary education. • A degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) focused on social/pedagogical treatment work or an equivalent degree from a university. • A valid driver's license (B category). • Proficient Swedish language skills, both spoken and written. Read more about our employee engagement. Employment: The position is a permanent full-time role, starting with a six-month probationary period. Start date is according to agreement. As a treatment pedagogue at our unit in Öxnevalla, you will receive an additional salary supplement until the fall of 2026, provided certain conditions are met.
