About the Role
As a treatment educator, you will play a central role in the daily work with youth. Together with dedicated colleagues, you will create a safe, structured, and meaningful everyday environment where each individual is given the opportunity to grow and develop.
In your work, you will apply DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) in both individual and group treatment, and work according to Nytida's pedagogical framework. You will actively contribute to developing individual pedagogical strategies that strengthen youth's self-esteem, social and cognitive abilities, and motivate them towards a healthy and sustainable life.
The target group is girls aged 15-19 with substance abuse issues, often combined with destructive behaviors. You will participate in activities and care-related work and collaborate closely with unit and operations managers in the organization's development efforts.
As a treatment educator, you will also serve as a contact person for one or more youth. This involves a close and confidential collaboration where you work together with youth towards individual goals based on established implementation plans. The assignment includes cooperation with family, social services, and other key stakeholders to create a holistic approach to each youth's development.
You will contribute to ensuring work quality through thorough documentation and follow-up. We prefer candidates with previous experience in social documentation and a structured work approach.
The work also requires the ability to handle emotionally demanding situations, such as when youth are struggling or acting out. You must have the ability to remain calm, set clear boundaries, and stand firm even during turbulent times – and then be able to meet youth with security, empathy, and professionalism.
In addition to treatment-oriented work, you will participate in daily routines and activities, such as cooking, cleaning, and accompanying or transporting youth to school and leisure activities.
Working hours include daytime, evening, weekends, and on-call night shifts.
About the Unit
Nytida Mahult Manor is a DBT treatment home for young girls located in Simlångsdalen, Halmstad municipality. Girls live in a home-like environment that provides a good foundation for benefiting from the treatment interventions we offer. We accept placements under both Social Services Act (SoL) and Care of Young Persons Act (LVU). Mahult is an HVB (Home for Care or Boarding) with seven places, targeting girls aged 15-19 with substance abuse, dysregulated emotional expressions, and relational issues.
Your Experience and Knowledge
We prefer candidates with relevant education, preferably a social work/behavioral science degree (180 ECTS) or social pedagogy/treatment education (400 YH credits). Good computer skills, documentation experience, and strong Swedish language skills (spoken and written) are required.
As a person, you have a positive basic approach and strong commitment to people. You are responsible, meticulous, and enjoy working in teams. You are happy to share your experiences and support colleagues in pedagogy, documentation, and interpersonal interactions.
