About this role

State Institutional Care, SiS, is a government agency responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for youth and adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse, throughout the country. At SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. SiS Youth Home Folåsa receives school-age girls with psychosocial problems, criminality, and substance abuse. Job Description Do you want to help create vital change for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a treatment pedagogue, you work in teams with other treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, collectively responsible for providing the youth and clients living with us the security, care, and treatment they need. We often encounter people in crisis, which means you will work with qualified care and motivation, and provide daily support. With your knowledge of care and treatment work, you actively contribute to fulfilling treatment plans. Documentation is a crucial part of your work, contributing to legal certainty, planning, and follow-up of our activities. You help maintain safety according to our routines and ensure daily activities run smoothly, including schooling, cleaning, cooking, etc. Being a contact person is also one of your tasks. The work may include mentoring new employees and interns. This is a job for someone who sees a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied. Our vision is to be a place of change, which permeates our approach, commitment, and attitude. Working hours are according to a schedule including day, evening, and weekend shifts. As a new employee, you will undergo SiS's 10-week basic training. The training alternates between theory and supervised introduction, preparing you for the treatment role in SiS activities. Qualifications To succeed in your work, you have a deeply rooted positive view of people. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and share SiS's core value of being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our youth. As a person, you are confident and easily create relationships with both youth and staff members. You have good communication skills and can remain calm in pressured situations. You collaborate easily with others and can handle conflicts constructively. You should also have: • Diploma from a 2-year post-secondary education at folk high school or vocational college with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work, or a college education we deem equivalent • Class B driver's license • Experience working with youth Additional merits include: • Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., psychiatry or LSS care • Experience from client-facing positions in correctional services, e.g., correctional officer • Experience in school, such as teaching assistant • Education in healthcare and social care At SiS, we value good employee participation. Employment: This is a full-time, permanent position starting with a six-month probationary period. Start date by agreement.
