About this role

The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements secure care for youth. We do this in youth homes and facilities for adults with substance abuse across the country. At SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. Regardless of where you work in our organization or what position you hold, you will help create life-changing transformations. SiS youth home BrÀttegÄrden is located just outside VÀnersborg. We accommodate non-school-attending girls with psychosocial issues, mental health challenges, as well as criminal behavior and substance abuse. **Job Description** Are you motivated to work with young people in vulnerable life situations and can you stand firm for the girls who need it the most? Working in compulsory care with youth is meaningful, stimulating, and developmental, but also challenging. As a treatment educator, you will work in a team alongside treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you will be responsible for ensuring that the young people residing with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. You will engage in qualified care and motivational work and provide daily support. You will actively contribute to the implementation of treatment plans, and documentation will be an important part of your work, contributing to legal security, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You will help maintain safety and contribute to the smooth running of daily activities such as schooling, cleaning, cooking, etc. BrÀttegÄrden has six departments, each led by a unit manager, a group leader, and a treatment secretary, who together form a department team that supports and guides the department's staff. We are now seeking treatment educators with various specializations and experiences. In your personal letter, we would like you to explain which specialization you are interested in and what competencies you possess that align with this. Below is a description of the different specializations: **Specially Enhanced Departments (SFA):** In SFA, you will work with girls with autism spectrum disorders and/or intellectual disabilities, as well as other psychiatric issues that require specially adapted care and treatment. There are few placed girls and a high staff density in a tailored care environment. The fundamental perspective in the department is habilitation, where the goal is to create safety, functional relationships, and to find strategies that enable the girls to navigate life based on their existing conditions. **Reception and Needs Assessment Department (MBB):** The focus in MBB is to stabilize the youth's situation and well-being while breaking socially destructive behaviors such as criminality or substance abuse. An MBB department is often the girls' first contact with compulsory care, which means a strong emphasis on safety-based and relationship-building work to identify which patterns need to be broken to assist the girl in the acute situation. **Locked Treatment Departments:** In the treatment department, you will work according to each youth's individual treatment plan. This involves skills training, structured treatment activities, and program operations. You will be involved in all aspects of the girls' daily lives in the department and at school. We have both traditional treatment departments and treatment departments focused on substance abuse. **Open Department:** As part of the treatment for reintegration, there is an open department. Here, the focus is on helping the girls maintain the skills they have acquired by practicing in open settings. **Qualifications** As a person, you need to be a secure adult who is attentive and capable of building trusting relationships with youth exhibiting challenging behaviors. You must be able to remain composed in stressful situations and manage conflicts constructively. You should recognize the importance of collaborating with your colleagues while also being able to make independent decisions. You should also have: - At least a degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work, or a university education that we deem equivalent. - A valid driver's license (B). - Proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written. At SiS, we value good employee engagement. This means that as an employee, you take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and foster good collaboration. **Employment:** Working hours are according to a schedule and include days, evenings, and weekends. The position is a permanent full-time employment starting with a six-month probationary period. Start date is according to agreement. Interviews will be conducted continuously starting during the advertising period and at two scheduled times on December 11 and December 19. As a new employee, you will undergo SiS's basic training for 10 weeks. The training combines theory with a guided introduction. This training prepares you for the treatment role within SiS's operations. **Application:** We welcome you to register your application in our recruitment tool no later than December 16, 2025. Tests and work samples may be included in the recruitment process. **Union Representatives:** OFR
