About this role
We are a company with a hundred-year tradition in care, having developed a strong reputation for meeting and supporting each individual in utilizing and developing their resources with high quality. Fogdaröd is a non-profit association driven by a commitment to provide care and support that we can all be proud of.
At HVB Gästgården, we are currently seeking new team members. We are in an exciting phase where we prioritize the development of qualitative care and treatment using evidence-based methods at our HVB. Just as important as working according to the above principles, we value doing so with commitment and soft values towards our youth, clients, guardians, and each other within the work team.
We accommodate youth aged 12-15 with psychosocial issues. Our target group is broad and may include outwardly aggressive behavior, difficulties in emotional regulation, and a lack of a safe environment at home. Many of our youth have some form of neurodevelopmental disorder, anxiety issues, and traumatic life events. We receive referrals from social services across the country. We offer a safe and homely living environment with individualized treatment based on implementation plans and personal goals.
Our psychological treatment is based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Our goal with the treatment is always to increase functional behaviors and skills while creating a valuable existence for our youth. This aims to enhance the opportunities for the youth to gain possibilities, strategies, and resources for the future after their placement ends.
Our staff are trained and receive ongoing education in clear pedagogical methods and low-arousal responses to effectively work with approaches, interactions, conversations, and adaptations based on the youth's needs. HVB Gästgården is beautifully situated in a park close to nature. The adjacent forest features beautiful waterways and exercise trails that contribute to an active leisure time. We also have outdoor and indoor gyms on the premises that the youth can utilize. Additionally, we organize excursions throughout Skåne.
In the role of treatment pedagogue, you will work with overarching interventions in the youth's daily life such as:
- Being a contact person for the youth
- Collaborating with your colleagues to ensure a good structure and adherence to the residence's routines to create a safe and predictable daily life for our youth
- Supporting and working on interventions related to Activities of Daily Living (ADL)
- Planning and conducting activities with the youth
- Participating in educational meals with the youth
- Collaborating with schools, guardians, and other care institutions
- Daily documentation
- Conducting behavior observations/mapping in daily life together with the team
- You are expected to work according to the organization's safety routines and risk assessments.
We are looking for individuals with the following qualifications:
- Relevant post-secondary education of at least 2 years, e.g., social pedagogue/treatment pedagogue/social worker.
- Experience working in HVB and with youth in a similar target group as ours
- A valid driver's license (B category)
It is advantageous if you have training in CBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI), low-arousal responses, and clear pedagogical methods.
We seek individuals with the following personal qualities:
- A secure adult who can build rapport with the youth based on treatment while maintaining personal boundaries
- Good skills in self-regulation and relationships
- Independence and comfort in performing solo work
- High collaboration skills as we value a safe and effective teamwork environment where we complement and support each other without prestige
- Strong flexibility, problem-solving abilities, and perspective-taking
- Openness to development and willingness to receive consultation/supervision from colleagues
- An approach and personality characterized by curiosity and non-judgment towards our youth, colleagues, and collaborators
- The courage to express when you need help, support, and to view the work as a continuous learning and development process
