About this role

State Institutions Board (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for youth with complex psychosocial issues and adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse, across the country. At SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. SiS Youth Home Ljungaskog receives non-compulsory school-aged girls with psychosocial problems, substance abuse, and self-harm issues. The institution is tasked with providing care for girls with special care needs. Job Description Do you want to help create vital change for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a treatment pedagogue, you work in a team with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the youth and clients living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often encounter people in crisis, which means you will work with qualified care and motivation, and provide daily support. With your knowledge of care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the completion of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work, contributing to legal certainty, planning, and follow-up of our activities. You help maintain safety according to our routines and contribute to the smooth running of daily life, including schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. Case management is also one of your tasks. The work may also include mentoring new employees and interns. This is a job for someone who sees a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied. Our vision is to be a place of change, which permeates our approach, commitment, and attitude. Working hours are according to a schedule of day, evening, and weekend shifts. As a new employee, you will undergo SiS's 10-week basic training. The training combines theory with supervised introduction and prepares you for the treatment role in SiS activities. You will work in the Nyhaga department, which is a locked treatment unit. Qualifications for Treatment Pedagogue To succeed in your work, you have a fundamental positive view of people. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and share SiS's core value of being a place of change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our youth. As a person, you are confident and able to build relationships with youth as well as with other staff members. You have good communication skills and can remain calm in pressured situations. You are easy to collaborate with and can handle conflicts constructively. You should also have: • Degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work, or an equivalent college education • Class B driver's license • Fluent Swedish in speech and writing At SiS, we care about good employee participation. Qualifications for Treatment Assistant You should also have: • Completed high school education • Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or LSS care • Class B driver's license • Fluent Swedish in speech and writing Employment: This is a permanent full-time position, starting with a six-month probationary period.
