The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for youth and adults with substance abuse issues. We operate youth homes and facilities for adults with addiction across the country. At SiS, your work life becomes an exciting challenge. SiS Youth Home Fagared accommodates non-compulsory school-age boys with psychosocial problems, criminal behavior, and substance abuse. We have departments in Lindome, Öxnevalla, and Gothenburg. **Job Description** Do you want to help create life-changing differences for vulnerable individuals? Then the role of treatment assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. The Öxnevalla unit in Horred, Marks Municipality consists of two secure treatment departments where you, as a treatment assistant, will work on building safe relationships and contribute to ensuring that our youth receive the security and stability they need to break ingrained behaviors. We are currently seeking several new team members for this role. The goal of your mission is to create hope, progress, and meaning in life situations affected by psychosocial problems, social exclusion, and addiction. Guiding youth through various stages of their lives is a tough and challenging job on all levels. You play a significant role in providing stability and security for our youth and are responsible for the foundation of daily life, including schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. You will also help maintain safety at the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work in a team of dedicated colleagues, and together, your combined expertise can lead to positive outcomes. We operate based on our core values: Respect, Care, and Clarity. Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends. As a new employee, you will undergo SiS's basic training program, which lasts 10 weeks. The training combines theory with a guided introduction and prepares you for the role of a caregiver in SiS's operations. **Qualifications** Your personal suitability is key to life-changing transformations. Therefore, you need to have a strong ability to foster engagement and participation. Equally important is having a solid positive view of humanity, a high level of empathy, and the ability to build good relationships. You possess strong communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are willing to share your knowledge with colleagues. You should also have: - Completed approved upper secondary education. - At least a two-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant field.* - Experience working with individuals in vulnerable life situations, e.g., in psychiatry, HVB operations, or care and support. - A valid B driver's license. - Proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written. *Exceptions to the requirement for at least a two-year post-secondary education may be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468).
