The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (Statens institutionsstyrelse, SiS) is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS also implements secure care for youths. We provide this service in youth homes and facilities for adults with substance abuse across the country. SiS LVM-home Hessleby, located in a beautiful forest environment just outside Mariannelund, accommodates men with alcohol, drug, or mixed substance abuse. We have specialized expertise in receiving clients with mental health issues or outwardly aggressive behavior. We are tasked with providing care for clients with special care needs.
Job Description
Do you want to help create vital change for vulnerable individuals? Then the role of Treatment Assistant at SiS offers you a meaningful challenge. The goal of your mission is to motivate our youth/clients towards new and less risky ways of living. As a Treatment Assistant, you are employed to provide care and treatment. You contribute to ensuring that the routines in the department function as they should. You play a significant role in the stability and safety of our clients and are responsible for the foundation of daily life, which includes cleaning, cooking, and more. You help maintain order and safety within the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building secure relationships and contribute to providing our clients with the stability and security they need to break old habits. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment educators and care coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and drive change. The job can often be demanding but is also rewarding, joyful, and varied.

Work hours are based on a schedule with awake night shifts.
Qualifications
Your personal suitability is key to life-changing improvements. Therefore, you need to have a strong ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is your solid positive view of humanity, great empathy, and ability to build good relationships. You possess good communication skills and can remain calm even in stressful situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are eager to share your knowledge with colleagues.
You should also have:
• At least a two-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) or equivalent education. The education should focus on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant field.*
• Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., in psychiatry, group homes, or care and support.
• A valid B driver's license.
• Proficient Swedish in both spoken and written form.

*Exceptions to the requirement for a minimum two-year post-secondary education may be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468).
Employment:
This position is a permanent full-time employment with a six-month probationary period. Start date is by agreement.
