About the workplace
The Social Services Unit consists of Children, Youth, and Family, Adult Support and Treatment, and the Relative Center. The unit is made up of dedicated and driven colleagues who all work towards the goal of providing citizens with a good response and support based on individual needs. We have close leadership from the EC and TL who provide support in daily work.
Throughout the year, we have been working on the transition to the new Social Services Act. We are proud of the operational development we are now undertaking, focusing on reaching individuals at an early stage before problems arise or escalate. We aim to lower barriers and offer quicker interventions without means testing.
Job Responsibilities
The focus of the role of Treatment Assistant is to work on motivation-building together with clients. Your mission is to support our citizens in various areas such as housing, risk use/harmful use or dependence, finances, and finding meaningful leisure activities. The role also includes performing urine tests for drug screening, conducting motivational/treatment conversations, and, together with your colleagues, implementing interventions on behalf of the authority as well as through our open access with advice and support services. The position involves significant collaboration both internally and externally with other key stakeholders. To be able to support our citizens in need, you have a relationship-building and stable approach. It is natural for you to see new opportunities in complex life situations and to be decisive and clear when required.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with experience in treatment work. We prefer that you are educated in the area of risk use/harmful use and dependence, such as a Treatment Assistant, or have other education and experience that we deem suitable for our operations. It is an advantage if you are accustomed to working in this type of environment. Experience or knowledge in the areas of domestic violence, housing issues, and mental health is meritorious, as is experience in leading groups. We would like you to have previously worked within a municipality and be well-acquainted with our mission.
We seek someone with a good demeanor, a positive view of people, and a genuine interest in working with individuals. As a person, you are clear, stable, and can set boundaries. You have good collaboration skills, great patience, and take personal responsibility in your work. You can work flexibly and proactively, and we value knowledge of low-arousal approaches. Training in MI is desirable, and ASI is meritorious, as well as other methods in the field. An additional plus if you have also studied social law as part of your education.
You have good computer skills, and prior experience with documentation is meritorious. You will meet clients in difficult situations, so it is important that you have an empathetic ability and a willingness to help and find solutions. A valid B driver's license is required for the position.
