The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for youth and adults with substance abuse issues. SiS also administers secure care for young people. We provide these services in youth homes and facilities for adults with addiction across the country. SiS Youth Home Gudhemsgården accommodates non-school-attending boys with psychosocial issues, criminal behavior, and substance abuse. SiS Youth Home Gudhemsgården has recently undergone an organizational change, transitioning from LVM care to LVU care, and is now in an exciting phase of development. Currently, the institution consists of three departments but will expand to five departments with a total of 30 places over the coming year.
Job Description
Do you want to help create life-changing differences for vulnerable individuals? Then the role of treatment assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. The goal of your assignment is to motivate our youth/clients towards new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you are employed to provide care and treatment. You contribute to ensuring that the routines in the department function as they should. You play a significant role in providing stability and security for our youth/clients and are responsible for the foundation of daily life, including schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. You help maintain order and safety in the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building trusting relationships and contribute to ensuring that our youth/clients receive the security and safety they need to break old habits. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment educators and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job can often be demanding but is also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends.
As a new employee, you will undergo SiS's basic training for 10 weeks. The training combines theory with a guided introduction and prepares you for the treatment role within SiS.
Qualifications
Your personal suitability is key to life-changing transformations. Therefore, you need to have a strong ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is having a solid positive view of humanity, a high level of empathy, and the ability to build good relationships. You possess strong communication skills and can remain calm even in stressful situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are willing to share your knowledge with colleagues.
You should also have:
• At least a 2-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant field.*
• A valid B driver's license
• Proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written

*Exceptions to the requirement for at least a two-year post-secondary education may be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468).
Employment:
The position is a permanent full-time role and begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date is to be agreed upon.
