State Institutions Board (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for youth with complex psychosocial issues and adults with substance abuse. SiS also executes closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and centers for adults with substance abuse, throughout the country. At SiS, your work life becomes an exciting challenge. SiS Youth Home Bergsmansgården receives non-compulsory school-age girls. We operate in Fjugesta, three miles west of Örebro, and are now planning to open a satellite unit in Granhult, 3 miles north of Lindesberg. The girls come to us because they have psychosocial problems and issues with criminality or drug abuse.
Job Description
Do you want to help create a vital difference for vulnerable people? Then the job as treatment assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. The goal of your assignment is to motivate our youth/clients towards new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you are employed to provide care and treatment. You contribute to ensuring the routines in the department function as they should. You play a significant role in providing stability and security for our youth/clients, and form the basis of daily life including (schooling), cleaning, cooking, and more. You help maintain order and safety at the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building secure relationships and help provide our youth/clients with the security they need to break ingrained behaviors. Together with your team of committed colleagues such as treatment educators and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to night shift schedule.
As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training for 10 weeks. The training alternates theory with supervised introduction and prepares you for the treatment role in SiS operations.
Qualifications
Your personal suitability is the key to vital change. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is having a fundamental positive view of people, great empathetic ability, and skill in creating good relationships. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.
You should also have:
• At least 2-year post-secondary education from folk high school, vocational college, or equivalent education. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or other relevant subject area.*
• Class B driver's license
• Excellent Swedish in speech and writing
Meritorious:
• Experience from client-close positions in Criminal Care, e.g., Correctional Officer
• Education in healthcare and care
• Experience working with our target group (e.g., substance abuse care, youth care, young girls, etc.)

*Exceptions to the requirement of at least two-year post-secondary education can be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468).
Employment:
Positions are permanent 85% positions, starting with a six-month probationary period. Commencement according to agreement.
