State Institutional Care (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for youth with complex psychosocial problems and adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse throughout the country. At SiS, your work life becomes an exciting challenge. SiS Youth Home Sundbo, located outside Fagersta, receives non-compulsory school-aged boys with psychosocial problems, criminality, and substance abuse. We are tasked with providing care for youth with special care needs and receive boys who have been sentenced to closed youth care (LSU).

Then the job as a Treatment Assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. The goal of your assignment is to motivate our youth towards new and less risky ways of living. As a Treatment Assistant, you are employed to provide care and treatment. You contribute to ensuring the routines in the department function as they should. You play a significant role in the stability and safety of our youth, providing the basis for daily life such as schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. You help maintain order and security at the institution according to our procedures.
Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building secure relationships and help our youth obtain the security they need to break ingrained behaviors.

Working hours are according to a schedule of day, evening, and weekend shifts.
As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training for 10 weeks. The training alternates between theory and supervised introduction, equipping you for the treatment role in SiS operations.
Qualifications
Your personal suitability is the key to vital change. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is having a solid positive view of people, great empathetic ability, and a capacity to create good relationships. You have good communication skills and can maintain your composure even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.
You should also have:
• At least a 2-year post-secondary education from a folk high school, vocational college, or equivalent education. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.*
• Class B driver's license
• Good Swedish in speech and writing
Meritorious if you also have:
• Experience from client-facing positions in Criminal Care, e.g., Correctional Officer
• Security guard training
• Experience from client-facing positions at the Migration Agency, e.g., administrator at a detention center
• Education in care and social services
• Experience working with our target group (youth care)

*Exceptions to the requirement of at least two-year post-secondary education can be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468).
Employment:
This is a permanent full-time position that begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date according to agreement.
