About this role
Counselor, Mini-Maria Jämtland Härjedalen, Permanent Position, 100%
The unique aspect of Mini-Maria Jämtland Härjedalen is the cross-professional approach where municipality and region work together to best meet the target group's needs.
Mini-Maria in Jämtland County is a service where the county's municipalities and region offer support interventions to youth up to 21 years old who have problems with alcohol, drugs, or gambling. The service also provides support to family members. Support is individualized and can consist of conversations, counseling, and treatment. A significant part of the work also involves consultation and collaboration with other actors who encounter the target group.
Mini-Maria becomes relevant if a youth, family member, or other close person contacts the service via phone or app. Mini-Maria can also be granted as assistance through one's municipal social services. Having support through Mini-Maria can also be an optional alternative for a youth sentenced for a crime where a youth contract has been established.
The main reception is in Östersund with branch offices in each surrounding municipality. In addition to physical meetings, digital solutions such as phone, video calls, and app chat are offered. The young person attends meetings at a reception in one of the county's municipalities, depending on where they live or wish to meet, and works together towards mutually set goals. If the young person wishes to meet elsewhere, flexible solutions are available.
Motivational Interviewing (MI) is used as a foundation for all conversations at Mini-Maria. In treatment, methods such as HAP/CPU, A-CRA, Treating Gambling Problems with CBT, and Relapse Prevention are used. In family work, FFT is the primary method. Counselor documentation occurs in the VIVA system.
