Your workplace
At the clinic for eating disorders and emotional instability, we provide top-class care and treatment. The unit has a well-functioning DBT team with all components of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in place. We offer individual therapy, group skills training, and telephone consultations around the clock.
Various professionals work at the unit, including doctors, nurses, psychologists, social workers, and healthcare administrators. In addition to therapy work, we also have a well-functioning program for vocational rehabilitation and good psychiatric medical care. The team continuously works on improving as a unit and supporting each other to become better therapists.
The clinic for eating disorders and emotional instability is one of the subspecialized psychiatric outpatient clinics that have remained after the reorganization of psychiatry in Värmland. We strive for all our therapists to have training in DBT, as well as other relevant qualifications.
Your responsibilities
As a DBT therapist, you will work with treatment according to Dialectical Behavior Therapy. This means you will provide individual therapy, lead group skills training, and offer telephone consultations to patients. Additionally, the unit has a consultative role regarding emotional instability, which may involve participating in training initiatives, supervision, and other consultative tasks within the organization.
Your skills and competencies
We are looking for a licensed healthcare social worker, psychologist, occupational therapist, or psychiatric nurse. You should also have experience working with psychiatric treatment.
It is advantageous if you have foundational training in CBT (Step 1) and/or DBT training. Experience working in a DBT team, as well as experience interacting with individuals with emotional instability and/or self-harming behavior, is also a plus. Since some interventions for this patient group include trauma-focused treatments, experience in this area is considered beneficial.
To thrive and succeed in this role, you need to have a strong ability to work independently while being collaborative and contributing to the team's development. You are proactive, possess an empathetic approach in your interactions with patients and colleagues, and work in a structured manner even in complex situations.
