Captain/First Officer for Visingsö Route Job Duties Are you passionate about safe and environmentally friendly maritime transport? Are you an initiative-taking, open, and communicative person with a high level of service orientation? We are now seeking committed staff for our yellow road ferries - help us bring Sweden closer together. The Ferry Company is undergoing a transformation towards electrification, climate adaptation, automation, and digitalization, where you are an important part of this change journey. We are currently seeking a captain/first officer for the Visingsö route between Gränna and Visingsö in Lake Vättern. The ferry route is 6,200 meters long with a crossing time of 30 minutes. Your main task will be to serve as first officer, but you may occasionally serve as captain. The position includes standard first officer and captain duties. As captain/first officer, you have reporting responsibilities for incidents, accidents, and other deviations. You are also responsible for ensuring the ferry is seaworthy and properly staffed. Qualifications Our main ferry on the Visingsö route has a four to five-person crew, requiring high collaboration skills. On board, you are the face of our organization, necessitating excellent service orientation. With analytical problem-solving abilities, you identify what needs to be done and act accordingly. You are motivated by active employee participation, taking responsible and targeted approach to your tasks while being attentive to how you contribute to the overall team. We are seeking candidates who: • Hold at least Ship's Officer Class III, Machine Engineer B-exam or Machine Officer Class VIII-exam • Have valid Crisis Management (CCM) certification according to STCW Manila • Completed basic safety training according to STCW Manila • Hold valid medical certificate for seafaring deck service, minimum inner route • Hold at least SRC certificate • Experienced in using digital tools and support systems • Speak and write Swedish fluently • Have Swedish/Nordic/Swiss/EEA citizenship Preferred qualifications: • Higher certifications/education or relevant experience • Experience with road ferries Application The questions you answer when submitting your application will form the basis of our initial selection.
