Childcare Worker for a Department with Younger Children

Ljungbackens Preschool is located in the Ljungbacken school area in Käppala on southern Lidingö, close to both nature and water. The preschool has four units, two for children aged 1-3 years and two for children aged 4-6 years. The educators engage in extensive collaboration between the units, as well as between the preschool and the school located in the same school area. Currently, an accessibility initiative is being implemented in collaboration with a special educator, aimed at ensuring that every child receives the education they are entitled to. The preschool is currently focusing on movement and language. Lidingö City has 19 municipal preschools. They differ in pedagogical orientation, composition of child and staff groups, design of facilities, and work plans. What unites them is the mission to lay the foundation for lifelong learning, based on the Education Act and the preschool curriculum. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Working as an educator on a longer assignment at our preschool means that you, together with preschool teachers and childcare workers, contribute to ensuring that children have safe, fun, and meaningful days both indoors and outdoors. The responsibilities included in the position are: • Care and Safety: Provide children with a safe, warm, and stimulating everyday life through attentive care, routines, and respectful interactions. • Educational Work: Actively participate in the educational activities by planning, implementing, and following up on activities that promote children's development and learning. • Play and Learning: Support children in their play, curiosity, and exploration both indoors and outdoors. • Daily Routines: Share responsibility with colleagues for routine situations such as meals, rest, diaper changes, and hygiene. • Documentation: Contribute to educational documentation and follow-up on children's development according to the preschool's guidelines. • Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to create a safe and positive learning environment for the youngest children. • Parent Collaboration: Foster good communication and a professional approach with guardians in everyday interactions. • Environmental Work: Participate in creating an inspiring, safe, and accessible learning environment adapted for younger children. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who has a genuine interest in children of various ages and is proficient in Swedish. Experience in long-term educational work with younger children is an advantage, and flexibility is essential as it is important within our operations.
