About this role

Are you someone who grew up with a parent struggling with addiction, mental illness, or who subjected you to violence? We are now seeking you who wants to work as the responsible Advocate for our support services. About Maskrosbarn Maskrosbarn is a children's rights organization working to improve growing up conditions for youth with parents who have addiction, mental illness, or who expose them to violence. Maskrosbarn consists of two operational areas – support services and advocacy work. Over the years, we have met thousands of children and have developed several types of support programs, lectures, training, and services based on children's wishes and needs. We collaborate with municipalities, regions, authorities, and other actors who meet our target group throughout Sweden. We constantly work to highlight children's right to support and better collaboration in society. We have approximately 35 employees at offices in Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö, and around 200 engaged volunteers across the country. About the Position As an advocate, you will work on behalf of youth to monitor their rights towards authorities and decision-makers. You will inform children about their rights, support and motivate youth, accompany them to authority meetings, write concern reports, and appeal decisions. You will also coordinate a team of three advocates who are social workers and manage their own advocacy cases with youth currently involved with social services. You will support and help your colleagues find ways forward, work administratively and quality-enhancing in close collaboration with your immediate manager. Maskrosbarn offers support conversations for youth within the target group. In this role, you will have a few counseling sessions per week as a counselor at our Stockholm office. You will receive training in our conversation method. The position is a permanent full-time employment with a six-month probationary period. Start as soon as possible after agreement. The position is located in Stockholm, Hammarby Sjöstad. Some possibility for remote work exists after agreement and when operations permit. Employment requires an extract from the police criminal record (work with children outside school and childcare). Who Are You? We believe you are warm, unpretentious, and enjoy working flexibly. You like working independently and varied, and you don't need to know everything - but you easily ask for help and have a desire to develop. You easily create relationships and trust with youth and colleagues. We believe you want to be an active part of civil society and a generous, committed workplace. We are seeking someone who: • Has a social work degree • At least three years of recent work experience from social services, in reception and/or youth investigation • Has good knowledge of children's rights • Has excellent Swedish language skills, verbal and written • Identifies as a "dandelion child" - having grown up with a parent with addiction, mental illness, or experienced parental violence. This is because we work with identification as part of our method • Preferably has experience in coaching colleagues and conversing with youth Application Welcome with your application by November 23, 2025. Apply through our recruitment system where you should attach CV and personal letter (attach personal letter under "Other Documents"). In the personal letter, please answer the following questions: • Briefly describe your upbringing and how you processed your childhood experiences • Describe why you are applying for the position and what professional and personal experiences you would utilize in the role • What you see as your biggest challenge in the role Interviews will be conducted continuously, so do not delay submitting your application. Note that system emails may sometimes end up in spam. For questions, please contact Maria Pihlgren, Group Manager for Support Services, at [email protected] or 076-721 02 56.
