About this role
We at the Delivery Ward in Gävle are seeking someone who wants to make a difference for our parents and their newborns. Here, in a department with approximately 1,400 deliveries per year, you will work in a modern and well-equipped environment, with six delivery rooms, three rooms for polyclinic patients, and three antenatal beds.
We are a dedicated team and we ensure that you have the best conditions to do your job. With a coordinator on all our day shifts, you will receive support and structure in your daily work, allowing you to focus on the most important thing: providing every woman and family with a safe birthing experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES
At the delivery ward, we work together to give every pregnant woman the best possible experience during childbirth. We strive for high presence and always having two midwives during the pushing stage, while actively working to minimize separations and ensure family cohesion. Our well-developed collaboration with the neonatal department makes us a team that truly puts the patient's needs first.
Main responsibilities
• Manage both normal and high-risk deliveries in close cooperation with doctors and nursing assistants
• Offer high-quality antenatal and polyclinic care
• Provide childbirth care by supporting the woman and her partner for a safe and secure delivery
• Mentor and develop others in the profession
• Perform documentation, CTG interpretation, and bedside reporting
• Work with telephone counseling to support our patients

QUALIFICATIONS
To thrive in the role of midwife with us, you need to be a person who takes responsibility, remains calm, and acts proactively in various situations. You work closely with both patients and colleagues, and it is important that you can collaborate effectively in teams to provide the best possible care. A sensitive and understanding attitude towards women and their families is crucial in creating a safe and supportive atmosphere. You should also have a strong will to provide high-quality care and always strive to exceed patient expectations.

• Licensed midwife
Previous delivery experience is meritorious.
