The Women's Health Care Unit employs approximately 800 staff and includes both gynecological and obstetric services in Lund and Malmö. In this position, the focus is on enhancing the team's competencies in day-to-day practical work and improving patient safety through evidence-based methods and routines. RESPONSIBILITIES In addition to performing typical job duties, you will work with and develop your competencies by: A senior midwife possesses a deep understanding of their profession and can manage, analyze, and guide complex care situations in close clinical practice. The senior midwife has participated in and managed acute rare events throughout their career and continues to deepen their skills while contributing to development work. You will utilize your extensive clinical experience to support and educate the care team in practical nursing work. Through guidance and mentorship, you will help colleagues enhance their clinical skills and contribute to maintaining high patient safety in every encounter. As a team player, you will participate in and lead effective teamwork, actively uplifting your colleagues. Your leadership fosters a safe and positive work environment where collaboration and team spirit are prioritized. You will assist the team in handling both everyday challenges and sudden changes with clear preparedness. You are expected to have strong pedagogical skills, be an active part of implementing prior research and evidence, and help develop new working methods. In your role, you will serve as a resource for managers in assessing midwives' competencies, which occurs within the framework of the business's competency and service model. Time allocated for development and the content of the assignment are agreed upon with the unit manager and adjusted according to the needs of the organization. During the summer period, the senior midwife's working hours will focus on clinical work. The aim is to strengthen and support clinical operations by leveraging the senior midwife's extensive experience and clinical competence. Administrative tasks will not be conducted during this period. QUALIFICATIONS You who are applying should be a licensed midwife qualified to practice within Swedish healthcare. Proficiency in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s proficiency scale is a requirement. Additionally, you have met the competency requirements for the senior phase according to the local development program within KTM. You have extensive clinical experience in obstetrics. It is advantageous if you hold a master's or postgraduate degree. We also consider it beneficial if you have taken courses in improvement and change knowledge, project management, patient safety, and/or leadership, or other courses that may be relevant to the organization. Furthermore, we view positively if you have extensive clinical experience as a midwife in various fields, such as primary care, ultrasound, specialist maternal care, delivery care, or postpartum care. We also appreciate if you have been involved in development work. We are looking for someone who places the patient at the center, is engaged, proactive, and flexible.
