About this role

About Us The Mobile Maternal Health Care Team in VGR is a specialized mobile unit for pregnant individuals with a history of or ongoing substance use. There are three teams in the region, which were established in spring 2024. The workgroup consists of midwives, social workers, and maternal health care consultants in each area of the region. Collaboration occurs with various partners based on the patient's needs, such as the Women's Clinic, neonatal care, child health centers, psychiatry, and social services. Pregnant individuals come to us through our midwifery clinics, social services, or other healthcare units. About the Job The teams are organized based on three geographical areas in VGR: Northern – Trollhättan/Uddevalla, Eastern – Skara/Skövde, and Southern – Alingsås/Sjuhärad. The current position is in the Northern area, based out of Uddevalla. As a midwife in the mobile team, you will be available to all midwifery clinics in the area. The area covers approximately fifteen midwifery clinics within an average radius of about twelve miles. You will work together with a social worker and a physician to create an individualized care plan for each pregnant individual and the expected child based on their needs. The care plan includes supervised testing. The role also involves conducting ambivalence conversations and preventing unwanted pregnancies based on the pregnant individual's decisions and needs. About You We are looking for a licensed midwife with prescribing rights for contraceptives and experience in maternal health care. It is advantageous if you have a strong ability to work closely in collaboration with other professionals. We appreciate your interest in participating in operational development. As a person, you have a strong interest in the target group and maintain a professional approach, even in situations where it is challenging to establish a therapeutic alliance. You are open to working both independently and as part of a team. Furthermore, you should be flexible and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Personal suitability for the position is of great importance. Conditions The position is 100% with 83.5% in the current team located in the Northern area, based out of Uddevalla. The remaining percentage can be allocated to one of the other midwifery clinics in the area and can be discussed. Travel within VGR is included in the role, so a driver's license is required.
