About our Pediatric and Adolescent Clinic
The vision of the Pediatric and Adolescent Clinic is to provide the best possible healthcare for children, young people, and their families in an environment characterized by play, joy, participation, and safety.
The Pediatric and Adolescent Clinic in Halland is a regional clinic that offers inpatient and outpatient care at Hallands Hospital Halmstad, as well as outpatient care at clinics in Kungsbacka, Varberg, and Falkenberg. Halland's maternity units are located in Varberg and Halmstad. We are a research-active pediatric clinic in a small and personal format, with short distances to colleagues who collectively cover all subspecialties. The Pediatric and Adolescent Clinic investigates and treats children and adolescents aged 0-17 with pediatric diseases such as allergies, asthma, gastrointestinal diseases, urological and nephrological diseases, neurological diseases, heart diseases, hormonal disorders, cancer, and rheumatic diseases. The neonatal unit cares for sick newborns and premature infants from the 28th week of gestation. In addition to primary and on-call services, we also have a neonatal on-call service in Halmstad. In Varberg, we are responsible for an emergency line for childbirth.
The clinic is characterized by a dynamic development and educational climate with learning and growth throughout one's professional life. Many employees engage in research during part of their working hours, and we have several staff members who have completed their doctoral studies. At our clinic, we place great importance on ensuring that both patients and staff feel well!
About the work at our clinic
As a physician in our pediatric and adolescent outpatient clinic, you will work closely with other professionals regarding children and their families. Our medical team aims to maintain a good breadth of expertise while also having specialized knowledge to manage much of the advanced healthcare, naturally in good collaboration with the larger regional hospitals, particularly in Gothenburg and Lund.
At the Kungsbacka clinic, there are around 30 employees. We currently have pediatricians, pediatric nurses, nursing assistants, secretaries, dietitians, social workers, psychologists, and physiotherapists. The staff has extensive and long professional experience, enabling us to investigate and treat many different pediatric conditions, diseases, and diagnoses.
As a physician at our clinic, you are never alone; there is always someone to discuss with or seek help from. We currently have doctors specializing in allergies, obesity, diabetes, endocrinology, gastrointestinal diseases, urological and nephrological diseases, and neurology. All doctors at our clinic have their specialties but also general pediatrics. This means that the days of the week vary, providing diversity and a stimulating schedule.
Qualifications
Now is your chance as we have an opportunity to offer a position for a pediatrician. As one of our diabetes specialists is moving to another position, we hope you have an interest in diabetes care. You do not need to be familiar with the care, but a willingness to learn would be great. If you also wish to participate in our emergency line for childbirth in Varberg, that would be an extra plus, but it is not a requirement to apply for the position.
For us, a person with the right attitude is the most important.
You should have good social skills and see it as a given to meet patients and their relatives, as well as colleagues, in the best possible way. You are also responsible, collaborative, flexible, and possess good communication skills. You have a good command of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
