**About the Position**
As a Munitions Designer at BAE Systems Bofors, you will be a key player in developing the ammunition and munitions systems of the future. You will work both theoretically and practically, covering everything from design and construction to testing and verification. The role is varied – some days you will be in a CAD environment producing drawings, while other days you will plan and lead tests at test sites to verify the solutions you have helped to develop.

You will work closely with materials engineers and munitions calculators who are responsible for strength and fragmentation patterns, ensuring that the designs meet the required standards. As a munitions designer, you will work with a high level of independence and take full responsibility for your assignments – from idea to verified solution – often acting as the project manager for your own design and testing activities.
In this role, you will:
- Develop designs and CAD documentation for ammunition components.
- Plan, prepare, and lead tests as well as develop testing methodologies.
- Collaborate closely with materials engineers and munitions calculators to ensure functionality, strength, and performance.
- Verify and evaluate designs through tests and analyses.
- Drive your own work with full responsibility and act as the project manager for your assignments.

**Who are you?**
We are looking for someone with experience in mechanical design, preferably within ammunition. Experience working with explosive components or fuzes is an advantage. You thrive in an environment where theory meets practice, have a strong technical interest, and understand what can be manufactured in a workshop.
We would like you to have:
- Experience in mechanical design, preferably within ammunition.
- Good CAD skills and experience working in design environments.
- Attention to detail and a strong safety awareness – you will be working with explosives and must adhere strictly to regulations.
- Ability to work independently and plan, analyze, and drive your own work.
- Good collaboration and communication skills, both internally and when interacting with clients.
