Backend Developer - Azure

Assignment Description We are currently seeking a Backend Developer on behalf of our client. Background: Customer Messaging is a new service in the Customer Engagement domain that will be utilized by all product teams needing to send transactional messages to the client's customers. The service will include self-serve tools for translating and reviewing emails for retailers and an API for product teams to trigger their messages. Customer Messaging is a critical service for delivering branded and trustworthy messages to customers in a timely manner. Consultant Service Scope: The consultant will work on: • Continuing to build the API • Onboarding product teams • Implementing integrations with SMS APIs and other communication channels This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a key component of the client's digital transformation within the retail space, focusing on unified customer communication. Main Tasks: • Develop backend services in a Microsoft Azure environment • Implement integration schemas, best practices, and data models • Leverage event-based knowledge • Deliver high-quality, purpose-driven code • Design and maintain high-quality REST APIs with clear contracts and versioning • Set up automated testing and pipeline Desired Qualifications: • REST API development: defining, building, and maintaining • Strong API-first development approach, emphasizing clarity, performance, and long-term maintainability • Excellent communication skills for explaining technical concepts clearly • Expertise in: - Azure / .NET - Infrastructure as Code - Azure Function - Azure Container Apps - Cosmos DB / Table Storage - RBAC - Entra ID - Service Bus - Event Grid Assignment Details: Start Date: January 12, 2026 End Date: April 30, 2026 Extension Option: Yes Workload: 100% Remote: Hybrid (3 days/week onsite) Application Deadline: November 13, 2025 We will review candidates on an ongoing basis.
